#CONNECT2030 in transition

In the scope of the future congress "#CONNECT2030 in transition", we were placing the focus worldwide on the future of the sweets and snacks industry and providing an overview of what is going to be possible in 2030.

Essential components of the congress were the keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters and Diana Drewes from the Berlin-based Future Agency for Material & Technology, Haute Innovation, as well as a panel discussion with participants from the different sections of the food industry are the essential components of the congress.

INGREDIENTS Event Zone

We presented the latest ingredients trends to you on the INGREDIENTS Event Zone in Hall 5.2 together with the results of the DLG Survey on the theme "Foodstuffs with ingredients individually aligned to suit the needs of the respective persons and their dietary requirements."

Specialised lectures on current industry themes took place on the integrated Knowledge Hub.

Guided Tours

Compact answers to the most important questions on the subject of "Sustainability packaging concepts for Sweets & Snacks" were provided by the one-hour Guided Tours offered by the DLG in cooperation with Koelnmesse. Among other things, they visited the Special Show PACKAGING and selected trade fair stands.

The focus of the tours laid on demonstrations and the professional exchange. The DLG accompanied the tour and provided in-depth insights into the current topic.

PACKAGING special event - "Function meets Design"

Packaging options have to be multitalents today: They have to represent the brand and entice the buyers, but at the same time they also have to be sustainable and resource-saving. The latest innovations of the packaging industry made for instance from regrowing raw materials or also resource-saving waste-avoiding, reusable packaging have been presented. Developments especially for the sweets & snacks section have been presented, which have also been designed in line with the new guidelines and EU legislation.

New Product Showcase

Here you could get specific information about innovations in the confectionery and snack industry in the high-quality special exhibition New Product Showcase! In addition to the awarding of prizes for the best innovations, an additional prize have been awarded for the most innovative packaging of the special show - the ISM Packaging Award powered by ProSweets Cologne.
