Packaging Workshops

Sunday, 1 February 2026

Sunday, 1 February 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Workshop in Englisch:

"PPWR – the digital path from requirement check to conformity reporting“

This workshop will give basic details about the PPWR - packaging and packaging waste regulation, show how requirements can be easily identified with the SaaS web tool PPWR Check(c) and building a heat map of status quo. Together with the digital data gained, the conformity declaration can easily be handled.

Attendees will have to possibility to check some selected packaging types, ask questions, see how to build a heat map and understand what is needed to make the conformity declaration with the entered data. Moreover, the requirements for transport packaging will be explained and how to achieve the given high quotas for reusable packaging.

Sunday, 1 February 2026, from 12:10 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Lecture in German:

Monday, 2 February 2026

Monday, 2 February 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Workshop in German:

‘Paper revolutionises packaging – when fibres take shape’

Plastic is a thing of the past. Discover how paper is now becoming sustainable packaging thanks to clever barrier functions, precise moulding and intelligent machine technology.

A workshop by delfort, FormerFab and another partner for machine control, which shows how cooperation along the ‘supply innovation’ chain makes things happen faster because it addresses the challenges of each process step – from the material to the finished packaging.

Monday, 2 February 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Tuesday, 3 February 2026

Tuesday, 3 February 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Workshop in German:

‘PPWR – the digital path from requirements testing to declaration of conformity’

This workshop provides basic information on the PPWR Regulation (Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste) and shows how the SaaS web tool PPWR Check(c) can be used to easily identify requirements and create a heat map of the status quo. The digital data obtained can then be used to easily create the declaration of conformity.

Participants can check selected types of packaging, ask questions, see how easy it is to create a heat map, and understand what is needed to create the declaration of conformity using the data entered. In addition, the requirements for transport packaging are explained, as well as how to achieve the specified high quotas for reusable packaging.

Tuesday, 3 February 2026, 2:00–2:20 p.m.

Lecture in German:

‘From trial and error to real-time quality: How engineering AI is revolutionising packaging processes’

Recyclates, thin-walled films, changing batches, fluctuating material qualities – modern packaging processes are under enormous pressure to adapt. Instead of trial and error, Engineering AI Analyser® enables data-based understanding of material and process influences, optimal adjustment of process parameters depending on raw material quality, tools and environmental parameters, and live quality control. Using practical examples (e.g. yoghurt pots with recycled content and blown film processes), we show how sustainable quality and resource efficiency go hand in hand.

Tuesday, 3 February 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Workshop in German:

‘From idea to stable production: securing packaging processes with AI and optimising them live’

Brief summary:
Interactive workshop: Participants will experience how packaging processes can be secured on a data-based basis – from materials (recycled materials, bioplastics, film) to machine settings and live quality control. A practical case study (e.g. cup production) will be used to illustrate cause-and-effect relationships and show how stable parameter windows can be found and concrete optimisation strategies developed with just a small amount of data.

Target group:
Packaging developers and producers, machine manufacturers, production and quality managers. Holistic optimisation of packaging – legally compliant (e.g. PPWR), technical, ecological and economical.

In this presentation, we will show how the SaaS web tool PPWR Check(c) can be used to easily identify the requirements of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Ordinance (PPWR) and create a heat map of the status quo. The digital data obtained can then be used to easily generate the declaration of conformity.
